Welcome to XR Hack! We are committed to creating a friendly, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone, no matter their background or identity. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior and the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
Respect others. Treat all participants with kindness, respect, and consideration online and in person.
Act professionally. Avoid harassment, sexism, racism, or inappropriate behavior in a professional setting.
Communicate openly and constructively. Critique ideas, not individuals; avoid demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Be mindful of your surroundings and your fellow participants. Alert event organizers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
Participate authentically and actively. By doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of the community.
Unacceptable behaviors include intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct by any participants at XR Hackathon. All XR Hackathon venues, including hacks, talks, workshops, parties, social media, and other online media, are shared community spaces for professional interactions and should be treated as such.
Harassment includes harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability; inappropriate use of nudity and sexual images; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Unacceptable behavior from any participant, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the event organizers may take appropriate action, including expulsion.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an event organizer immediately. Event organizers can be identified by special badges/tags on the event site.
Please always contact discord admins via direct message in case of an emergency or uncomfortable situation.
Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants at XR Hack events, including hackers, organizers, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers, across all online platforms and in-person events.
In case of an emergency, please reach out to your local organizer team, directly on-site, via email to [email protected] or via discord message.
